I've written at length about NoMad Bar's various pop-up themes, which are always a delight. Their spring 2019 edition came in the form of a traditional British Sunday roast dinner.
While the overall meal was great as usual, I had just finished getting over a really horrible stomach bug - I had eaten almost no solid food for about two weeks, so though I was no longer sick, my stomach wasn't prepared for such a large, rich meal. As such we had to cut the night short and got part of our food to go.

Cocktails
Against my stomach's better judgement, I couldn't say no to a starter cocktail. I can't remember what they were exactly, but I do know that the folded white sheet in the drink on the right was a large garnish of fresh horseradish - wonderful!

Onion Tarte
Rye Crumble, Sprouts, and Herb Salad
Potted Trout w/ Green and White Radish
A fun trio of appetizers kicked off the food. To my relief, all three were quite light and made for a really nice introduction to what would ultimately be a much larger meal.
More Cocktails!
More for Leah anyway - I abstained for this round.

Slow-Cooked Lamb Roast
This indulgent feast hit all the right notes. Per current trends, the meat was actually a minimal part of the course, with the various vegetable sides taking more of the spotlight. Each item was clearly prepared with the utmost care.
I had a couple bites of each, though by this point I had to tap out. My stomach simply wasn't able to handle this much food so soon after getting over my illness.
Banoffee Pie
Our dessert to go - I'd never actually had banoffee pie/pudding before, though I'm pretty sure it doesn't normally include strawberries. Still, this tasted great and held up surprisingly well eaten the next evening.
